During the weekend of 18-20 of Feb, Borg Miniracing Club of Norway arranged the first Nordic Winter race.

This was the first Norweigan attempt to arrange a annual premium race, and I first like to say that there effort was realy good.

The organization was first lass. Timekeeping, speaker, and everything was 100 % smooth, and the hospitality was something realy exceptional.

I can recommend this race next year for anyone who want to be treaten friendly.

The track was a hughe one, and with a width between 3 and 4 meters, giving plenty of room for overtaking and exciting racing.

2 practice runs was on schedule on Fridag afternoon, and the grip was very slow. It was quite amusing to see Viktor Wilck, on his first attempt with his Xray giving anyone a lesson in "drifting with style".

The race format was 4 out of 6 rounds counting, and in the beginning it was clear Eirik Andreasson, Tamiya, was on pace. In the beginning, he looked as a clear favorite, but as traction came up the Xray cars starting to find there way around the track faster and faster. After the battle for TQ, it was Eirik who could put a #1 on his car for the finals ahead of a quintett of Xray´s. Finally, one Corally and two shumacher cars squeezed into the A as well.

The A found Viktor charging Eirik hard from the beginning. The battle was on for a lap when the tangled together, and Andreas saw the opening and passed. Well, that was what he planned anyway, but someone took a shortcut right over the curbs, sending him out with loose batteries.

During this somehow caotic moment, Joel passed them all with Viktor right behind him.

They where dialed together and out of reach for the rest. This continue until about a minute or two left to go, when Joel touched a curb in the chicane. This was enough for Viktor, who passed and won the first final with something like one tenth of a second. Eirik managed to fight back to 3:rd position ahead of Alexander Hagberg, who did super steady laptimes all weekend.

The 2:nd fianal was a battle again between the top 4 drivers. Booth Andreas and Joel tested something radical, that realy didn´t pay off. Eirik and Viktor have a close battle, and Viktor took the checkered flag once again with a tenth of a second, giving him the awerall win the first time out with Xray. Impressive stuff! Joel came 3:rd and Andreas 4:th practicing serious drifting tecnique.

Well, lesson learnd, booth Andreas and Joel vent back to more safe set-up´s, and the 3:rd final was to be the decider for 2:nd place.

Already in the first corner, Viktor was on Eiriks inside, and as Joel and Andreas was bumper to bumper, there was no room for Eirik to come in again. Joel was realy fast and took the lead of a train of 5 Xray´s screaming down the main strait.

I recall I thought Juraj would like this wiew when bad luck hit Joel, who only have to park his car on the side of the track, while the rest passed him with Andreas in front.

This continues to the end and thanks to this win, Andreas could bring home 2:nd overall.
